Mission of the PDMA

The mission of the Program is the production of creative, cutting-edge research, training to innovate and undertake, contributing to the formation of ecosystems, seeking to transform knowledge into ecological, social and environmental development, with social impact, through the training of researchers with scientific skill, methodological knowledge and critical capacity. It is understood that research is guided by rigorous scientific methods that support the results achieved, with the ability to reproduce and contribute to the progress of science, especially with a focus on innovation as a path to development. The program aims in particular to contribute to public and private organizations, new companies (startups) and non-profits, with a focus on innovation, collaborating for the development of the State as well as the country, transforming people, organizations and society. It is understood that research is guided by rigorous scientific methods that support the results achieved, with the ability to reproduce and contribute to the progress of science.

General and Specific Objectives

Thus, the general objective of the Doctoral and Master’s Program in Administration (PDMA) at FUMEC University is the generation of new knowledge and the training of doctors and masters with skills for the development of teaching, research and innovation in the area of Administration.

Specific Objectives

The specific objectives of the PDMA are:

To train doctors and masters to exercise with excellence the role of professor and researcher in the area of Administration, aiming at social impact and contribution to the development of science and the country;
To foster teaching and research in basic, higher education and at the graduate level;
To promote and develop research skills with the faculty and students of FUMEC University, in an integrated manner with other centers of excellence and interinstitutional and international research groups;
To disseminate the knowledge resulting from research in journals, magazines and scientific events;
To train graduates to exercise leadership and innovation in order to contribute to the raising of management standards and productivity and efficiency of Brazilian organizations, Public, Private and Non-Profit;
To train graduates to develop strategies, implement intervention mechanisms and evaluate organizational results;
Maintain a network of graduates aiming at the development of research networks, continuing education, acting on the strategic planning of the program to achieve its mission and objectives.
Generate bases to foster innovation and create activities with an impact on society.

Purpose

To contribute to the development of people and institutions, through excellence, making knowledge an instrument for transformation and improvement of people’s quality of life and the development of the country with quality.
